We're all creatures of habit, and our pets are no different. Too much time between grooming sessions often results in matting, overgrown nails, fear/anxiety, and general discomfort with grooming. We're firm believers grooming should not be something your pet fears or dreads, and a regular schedule helps to ensure they always have a pawsitive experience with us.
We are unable to accommodate full service grooming appointments without a maintained schedule
A keratinization cycle or skin cycle happens roughly every 21 days (3 weeks). Meaning, every 21 days your pet has shed a layer of skin and if left to build up too long can contribute to dandruff, unpleasant smell, itchy skin, bacterial/fungal infections, hot spots and more. Imagine not washing your hair/bathing for 3 weeks how uncomfortable you would feel!
We care deeply for your pets, it's why we do what we do! If a 6 week schedule is not feasible for whatever reason, yet you're wanting the best for your pet, please talk to us about what solutions we may be able to offer
We use almost exclusively Iv San Bernard products in our salon to ensure healthy skin and hair, effortless grooming, happy pets, and stunning results. This is so much more than just a product line and like most things around pet grooming - we're passionate about it!
These products are some of the only pet safe certified luxury products available, specially formulated to maintain healthy skin and hair. Did you know pet shampoo is largely unregulated and claims made aren't verified by anyone?
Iv San Bernard USA is owned by DVM Cliff Faver, and as a veterinarian specializing in dermatological practice he found these products were consistently more effective at resolving severe chronic skin issues than the traditional medicinal practices he was taught and familiar with. They also achieved incredible results without any negative side effects, harsh antibiotics, steroids, or medicated shampoos.
We likely see your pets more often than your vet, handle them for longer, and literally go through them with a fine toothed comb. We're likely to find things, notice changes, and have a significant impact on and direct, regular contact with your pets LARGEST ORGAN - their skin.
It is truly a blessing to have found Iv San Bernard and their team. Working in an animal hospital for many years we are no strangers to seeing chronic skin issues, and the toll it takes on a pet. It's more than hair loss, scratching, or a bad smell - it's diminished quality of life. Recovery for these pets can be a long, difficult, expensive road, and success isn't guaranteed especially as the pet increases in age.
Prevention is easier and more effective than recovery! Applying the appropriate products and techniques, and a desire to do better, we achieve unbelievable results.
Now, we rarely see chronic, painful skin issues and when we do - we know we can help.
We are not able to provide any medical diagnoses or offer any medical advice.
Please ensure to speak with your veterinarian about any concerns you may have about your pet.
Likely the most common skin imbalance we see.
Inflammation, foul smell, discharge, and head shaking are all signs of an ear infection.
Triple oil is amazing at restoring balance and preventing imbalances
We see various spots and areas of inflammation and build up.
Lesions, hair loss, inflammation, build up or "crusts," foul smell, and more are all indication of skin imbalances
Another common skin imbalance we see presents as an orange/brown colored build up around the bed of the nail along with inflammation.
Many pets will chew or lick their paws aggressively
A change in color in the skin as pictured above is often an indication of a chronic skin issue. We see this often in groins, arm pits, and ears.
Some pets experience acute reactions to unknown irritants that result in hives
Some bacterial infections mimic the appearance of hives
Skin imbalances tend to spread and increase in severity with increased age. When left alone, these imbalances often become chronic
Especially when chronic, these imbalances are taxing on the pet and affect overall quality of life

Lichenification or "elephant skin" as it's often referred to is a last attempt made by the skin to heal and protect itself, essentially scarring.
The skin takes on a deeply wrinkled appearance and is associated with severe, chronic skin issues.
This is where our hydro-ozone therapy really shines! It's ability to penetrate the skin deeply allows us to cleanse these deep folds effectively while relieving inflammation and destroying bacteria and fungus.
The skin is the largest organ in the body and when it is sick or infected it takes a toll on the whole system. Chronic skin infections can lead to a very unhappy, uncomfortable pet. The top image above shows a pet who has chewed their fur out due to chronic skin issues. This is after years of medicated shampoo, antibiotics, ear medication, steroids and thousands of dollars spent trying to help her. The bottom photo is after we've restored healthy skin and regrown hair using Iv San Bernard products, techniques and ozone hydro therapy. As you can see the entire demeanor and even posture changes!
Prevention requires less time, money and effort than correcting/restoring unhealthy skin. Prevention is more often than not, as simple as clipping only when necessary, and using the correct products and techniques for the pets specific needs and coat type. We are experienced and knowledgeable about your pets grooming needs and will ensure they're well taken care of. Furthermore we will bring to your attention if something looks concerning or has changed with your pet
Where there are pet groomers, there are haircuts happening, right? Groomer and haircuts are almost synonymous! However, most pets are better off never receiving haircuts, ever. This is due to their coat type (double, pre-determined length, combination) and the damage caused when cut, trimmed, clipped, or shaved.
Both dogs and cats NEED their hair. It is much more than a desired aesthetic, style or look. It provides necessary protection, temperature control and more. Yes the hair or fur needs to be cleansed, conditioned, brushed, deshedded and cared for regularly - but it is definitely for keep!
We receive the question often, "If you're not clipping the hair, what are you doing and what am I paying for?" Great question! We care for your pets grooming needs from nose to tail. We start by cleansing and conditioning their skin and coat and inspecting the skin while we dry, taking note of any changes or concerns (we find things like ticks and fleas, lumps and bumps, and sometimes even clues to help reach medical diagnosis from your vet). We care for their coat by brushing, combing, detangling, removing undercoat, stripping, oiling and more based on your pets specific coat needs. We trim their nails to ensure their comfort, clean their eyes and ears and ensure we pass along any concerns we may have noticed when working with your pet. It is a full service grooming package, with all the bells and whistles included in every grooming session!
